Is there any way to change the boot logo on my gigabyte board?

The Z170X Gaming 7. Been a dream to use so far, barring the horrid mouse movement in the BIOS and the ultra low res splash logo. I could clearly see little white artifacts around GIGABYTE ULTRA DURABLE when using it. I know I'm being kind of silly here, but is there any way to change it? I'm on the latest F7 BIOS.

no you can't change the logo

but you can enable fastboot so the boot logo won't show at all

If you're running legacy mode (not UEFI), there's a way to change the boot logo by editing the resources in the file called bootres.dll. Seems that it hasn't changed in Windows 10. Note that it's not a very easy thing to do, and it will most likely require you to run Windows in "test mode" that doesn't verify digital signatures in order to allow the system to use a modified bootres.dll

On UEFI systems, I imagine editing the boot logo will have to do more with editing the firmware binary and flashing a modified one. The difficulty and exact steps vary from one system to another.

TLDR: It's not worth it.

Wrong. While I don't know if OP's particular mobo supports this feature, I've got an FM1 pre-UEFI board that I easily changed the boot logo by using Gigabyte's @BIOS utility. Just get a Bitmap image, press the button and you are done, boot logo changed.

@Noirgheos Just click on that link, download it and see if it allows you to do the same for yours. I'd assume so, given that my crap board supports it and yours is a modern high end one. But don't quote me on that.
