hey folks just wants to know which version of 970 is better in terms of cooling,(as i live in hot n humid environment) less noise and price(msi or asus), because evga variants are very expensive in India.

Usually for cooling I go with the G1 Gaming series cards from Gigabyte.

MSI and Asus both have great coolers. Just go with the one that's cheaper for you or matches your color scheme. If it comes to performance, I think msi is slightly better

strix is a good cooler, if not a little loud under heavy load but theyre strong overclockers. but yeah grab a 1060 if the price isnt too much higher

Hey thanx ,But 970 is 256 bit and 1060 is 192 bit ..it might make difference I guess ..though 1060 has new architecture...

Well from what I understand, you can break it down like so...

 

MSI- performance and cooling

ASUS- cooling but shitty customer service

EVGA- cheaper end decent performance

GIGABYTE- balls to the wall performance (especially with that G1)

 

For me given you're only looking at 970s, I'd go for whatever's cheaper between the MSI and STRIX. Both are great cards.

I would rate the 970 with 3,5 out of 4 hehee but jokes aside

Every company is famous for something. If my mind doesn't lie to me I know that the cards from MSI are good overclockers with let's say ''good'' air cooling

ASUS on other hand offers  good cooling of the card but because we are talking about the same 1070 there won't be any massive performance gains.

 

P.S: To give a minus to ASUS for the bad customer service it just silly tbh

ok..so the conclusion is, it doesn't matter if i choose ASUS or MSI, either of them will serve my purpose.i don't know why EVGA variants are expensive compare to ASUS and MSI in india.

I found a used Gigabyte 970 for $250 and a couple for $300, where as a Gigabyte 1060 is $400 before tax and they're back ordered. Sure the Gigabyte RX 480 is $330 before tax but that's the reference card and once again, back ordered.

Reference 480 is still 10% faster than a 970 in DX11 and over 25% faster in DX12. In Vulkan, it's 35% faster. 970 is shit now due to the 480 and 1060

folks thanx for your inputs...but m still concern about bit rate difference between 970 and 1060, can somebody please explain how it will matter ..i know that shouldn't the only thing u should look for when buying a graphic card,but i also read higher the better.i know 1060 has higher base and boost clock and 2Gb of extra vram compare to 970..and m only interested  in 1080p gaming.m least bothered about 4k and VR.
