760 Usage issues

So, I have this problem that my Zotac AMP 760 seems to be working just fine but then suddenly the game starts stuttering. I look into MSI afterburner and I see that the GPU is sitting at 45% usage. What do I do as this has happened to me before and I had to flush the drivers to fix it and I don;t wanna do it again?
