As titled, my win7 pc just gets into an infinite loop at the windows is starting screen and goes into and infinite loop. I have tried to do chkdsk and bootrec using the installation cd but its still to no avail. I tried booting from both the C and D drives and this happens for both except that the D drive which contains the prog file, users, etc folders will give me the option of safe mode etc before it goes into the restart loop. Another thing I did was replacing the reg files ie. system, default, etc using the guides online but still couldn't get it to work right. Help?

ps. This all started after I failed to upgrade to windows10 a couple of weeks ago and I did a system partition with a third party software (can't remember what the name of the prog is though) and it was able to start installation but ultimately failed in the end. After that I encountered the problem where my PC just won't start up after being prompted to restart and I had to use the cd for system repair, which got me into the situation I'm currently in.

thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure something messed with your windows when you failed to install Windows 10.

I would just format it, and reinstall windows.

But if you have some data that you need, try to plug HDD to some other PC and copy those datas down.
