I'm looking to build a new PC from scratch. I'm planning to use it for video editing, some after effects work, and occasional gaming.

I'm looking at the build here:

PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/9HQkd6

This build comes in at $2062 in Singapore. I'm looking for suggestions for improvements to this build while staying under $2000. I already own a Samsung 850 Evo 500GB, which I will use as the OS and storage drive initially. I have a U2414H 1080p monitor that I plan to use with this.

Also, have I missed any incompatibilities with the parts I have?

Save a few bucks and get 16gb or cheaper ram.

You clearly have never morked with AfterEffects, people report usage over 16GB and huge slowdowns if you only have that much

OP, you're gonna want a beefier CPU for the sake of smoother video editing and decreased rendering times. The 5820K can be replaced by a 6800K but make sure your motherboard's BIOS supports it.

I do, but didn't read that, go 32gb.

Cooler is probably overkill

I have been conflicted between the 6800K/5820K or 6700K for a while, but I can just about afford the i7 and the 1070 as it is, and it is at least a $200 difference between the Skyake mobo and cpu vs the Broadwell-E set,  so, would it be better to go for a 1060 with the hex core or the quad core with the 1070?

Look for prices on a GTX 980 Ti or R9 Fury X, perhaps you can make the budget room for the 6 core by getting one of those, and performance difference isn't big enough to change the experience as you will only have to tweak settings a lillte bit

The prices for those two don't seem to have fallen yet, I guess I'll look at used versions of those cards, they seem to be available for about

Also, would the Asus X99-A II be a better motherboard than the ASRock? The price difference is around S$40-50 and I've seen a lot of mixed reviews about this board and ASRock customer support in general. And personally, I've had decent experiences when it comes to Asus customer service.

Finally, the NH-D15 is S$149 while the Nepton 280L is 168. Which one would be better for the price among the two? All I seem to hear about the Noctua is just gushing praise. Does it hold up in real world performance?
