Hello, I will be going to university this fall and because of that I need a laptop for my school work.

My question is, how much PC speed / non-laginess (if you can call it like that) is affected by CPU? Should I consider anything below i3/i5 processors and which would be ideal for my desired tasks?

I will be getting an SSD for it and laptop will be used only for browsing the web, programming and League of Legends / CS:GO from time to time.

I just want a enjoyfull experience (everything to be smooth) with it since I'll be using it for the next 4 years.

in MY opinion, if you are going to keep that laptop for 4 years, you should get the fastest/most expensive one that you can...

i mean, maybe an i3 will be good for a year, maybe an i5 will be better for 2 years, and finnaly maybe, just maybe, an i7 will last for 4 years without compromisses...

think about this, i have a 3770k, released back in q2'12... it's been 4 years, and IT IS still good enough for ANYTHING...

just my opinion...

don't cheap out...

As I said, I won't be using it for anything but school work. All my gaming needs will be handled with my main rig (specs in my signature).

The only games that I will play, even though not a lot, will be CS:GO and League of Legends just to relax. Currently I have no GPU in my rig and I can run League of Legends +200fps with Intel HD Graphics 4600. CS:GO ~200fps @ 800x600, everything low. And I don't mind playing on such low settings.

I just need to know which CPU will be good enough for me not to notice any lag while browsing the web, switching between windows e.t.c
