wear and tear wise it makes no difference, it uses less power in sleep if you are worried about that, but if you dont care (like me) i just leave mine on all night.

Edit if  you have a physical hdd then you should sleep becuse some hdds wont stop unless they sleep

Just shut down when you sleep or going away for a long while.

i leave mine on at night

power usage wise as long as you close all programs it will be minuscule (about $2 per month is how much i have seen my power bill go consistently up since getting a computer)

He state 'gaming PC', I would expect him to at least have a SSD and SSD + windows 10 really doesn't take long to boot up nowadays so yea, personal preference.

depending on primary drive

SSD -> sleep (switch sleep state leds from blinking to off)

HDD -> hibernate (basically a combination of sleep and power off)

while hibernate is basically shutting it off (ram gets dumped to HDD and restored to ram once booted up), sending the PC into sleep mode takes the power draw so low it becomes almost insignificant.

If you're truly worried, just shut down. Only disadvantage is having to wait for boot and start-up.

Put it to sleep - no questions asked! Saving power is always better than just letting it run while you sleep like a cozy hamster... :D

Nothing to see here ;)

Why are you so scared of shutting down your computer?

Some people scared that their PC won't come back alive again, ermergerd.

Personally I just turn it off because there's a light that keeps flashing and keeps me away from sleeping.

I just turn it off because I always get a fresh feeling when it's restarted instead of opening the same thing I opened before. I can't explain it :0

Get a 3.5mm Audio Cable Extension? This one in the link is probably too long, but it's just an example.

By too long I meant too long for you're use case, unless your PC is actually 25 feet away from where you sit. Although there is a maximum length to the cable before the signal will start to degrade, it is above 25 feet, which I'm guessing you don't need. Just pick up a 5 foot extension cable with good reviews on Amazon, and you'll be fine. Even if it does break, it should only cost a few dollars to replace.

I'm not going to assure you that it works, but overall the reviews seem positive. The only other thing that I could suggest for maximum assurance of quality is getting one from a reputable brand. I've never heard of the company that makes that cable that you provided. I can suggest the Monoprice website, as I have ordered cables from them, but the decision is ultimately up to you.
