RE: Combine or get a new setup

Xiauj

Hey guys,

I need some opinions. I did make a post on this a few hours ago (The same day, 17th July/Today) but, it didn't give me the info that I needed.

So, basically I currently own 1x Samsung U28D590D but can't decide if I should combine that with 2x of the newer model being a U28E590D to make a triple monitor setup for my new PC which I hope to buy and assemble soon.

One thing to note: I don't want to sell it (My current monitor) because, I would get barely anything for it in return.... just saying.

So, Opinions guys?

  • New and Old to be combined? > 2x New Model setup (U28E590D) to combine with 1x Old Model (U28D590D)
  • Or do I just say Goodbye and get a new:
    • 3x 144Hz Monitors setup (24")
    • Or........
    • 3x UltraWide monitors (24"-30" approx)
      • For this option, not sure if it would fit on my desk.... it might but I'm not entirely sure.

How much would each options listed above cost? I don't want to spend over £700+ JUST FOR the displays... by the way.

Please reply/refer with the monitor (Per option) that you are talking about also, would be very helpful!

And finally, if someone knows all of the differences between the U28D590D & U28E590D, could you list them please? That would also be helpful!

Thanks

Anyone?

Two 28" 4K monitors would cost £650~.

Triple 24" 144hz would cost £600~.

Triple 25" 2560x1080 would cost £500~.

Triple 29" 2560x1080 would be £750~.

Do you play games that would benefit from 144hz? Do you have a system that can even power triple 144hz 1080p monitors?

Do you have a system that can run triple ultra wide 1080p monitors? or triple 4k monitors? Do you want to screw around with the fact that ultra wide doesn't have amazing gaming support?

And the E variant supports freesync.

This isn't a question that someone else can answer. It's something that only YOU know the answer to as it's 100% personal preference.

Umm, what titles are we talking about here that can handle 144hz?

My soon-to-be PC-Build will be a 5820k, X99 Mobo (Dunno which one yet), GTX 1080 (Dunno whose version).

They (My old model and the new ones) can support 4k Resolution (3,840 x 2,160) but would be playing at 1080p or 1440p, more than likely 1080p for now if my 1080 can handle it that is.

I know it can't but, it was just a suggestion -_-

I do also tend to multitask which is partly why I suggested it.

That question was this, actually :P So there was only this one but yeah.

Well, and so was the cost(s) as well.

Also I forgot to mention above,

what specific monitors are we talking about for each of the 4 options that you said?
