Is MSI Z170M mortar  motherboard useful for gaming?

Let me explain briefly to you what is different from each motherboard. Each motherboard got some different feature such as Easy OCing, easier tweaking, or like what ASUS got which is Q-Code which i those little LED numbers on the Mobo to explain the state of your CPU. Now, what does MSI Z170M Mortar got? what I read from the website is that it got this Gaming LAN Manager which is to put the app priority above all other apps. For the question is it useful or not, it depends on your system build

You'll want to look for a quality motherboard that fits your CPU.

Gigabit LAN is a need these days.

Z-boards if you have a K-series CPU.

Other than that, it's up to you.

Nice board by the way.

You don't need a Z board if your CPU doesn't end in a K.

I mean you're a software developer, why would you need a gaming Mobo

I believe not, a gaming mobo won't give you better performance, but it gave you better features or gimmick.
