Switching Pci gpu ports.

Motherboard- Asus z97a

Gpu- R9 290 XFX

 

I believe my first pci port broken. Seems like it's not detecting my card

I tried switching my GPU to the second slot and it's not displaying. Does the motherboard automatically use the first port and I need to go to bios to switch?

as you have an intel board have you tried connecting to the on board graphics?
