I'm currently looking around for a laptop that will run lightroom smoothly. My budget is about RM3000 (~$800). Originally, I wanted to purchase a Dell Inspiron 13 5368 http://www.dell.com/my/p/inspiron-13-5368-2-in-1-laptop/pd?oc=w51635013myw10&model_id=inspiron-13-5368-2-in-1-laptop but found out that the screen has fairly poor colour gamut and accuracy. Any recommendations?

That's photo editing, right? Well you'll want an Ips panel and probably something higher than 1080p. I think the xps 13 has both of those things, however you have to spend a little more to get more than an i3.

The xps 13 in Malaysia goes for over RM5,000 ($1255) for the base model, way over my budget. And yes, thats photo editing. :) Any other recommendations?

Check out offerings from lenovo, you might be able to find something with an i5 or i7 within your price range.

Do you have any experience with them?

Unfortunately not as I'm a broke high school student. But from reviews I can tell you that they are very good in business applications or where you need to do lots of typing. I believe I tried a yoga in a best buy a few months ago and it felt nice. Metal body, good keyboard, Ips looking 1440p screen. However I believe it was also $1200.

I managed to shortlist my choices to two laptops:

Asus UX305 or Acer Aspire R15

Core M3-6Y30 vs i5-6200U

128GB SSD (should be m.2 I guess. Couldn't find it online) vs 1TB 5400RPM

13.3" vs 15"

Both full HD

93.9% sRGB vs 109% sRGB

Non-touch vs Touchsreen

Delta-E 11.7 vs 4

281 nits vs 310 nits

known cons :

acer hard drive is sluggish, super reflective screen.

thoughts?

Well if you need performance, don't go with a core M. Those chips are designed for Web browsing at the most.

Well that's because it's a 5400 rpm laptop drive. Pull it out as soon as you get it and toss in an 850 evo or something.
