My first build, i was fine on my asus n550jv for my younger years but i need an upgrade. I created this build from some research and at a price range of around $2000 AUD (including the case and monitor). I have very limited knowledge when it comes to builds so i'm all ears.

Case: Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ATX Mid Tower Chassis Satin Black

Monitor: BenQ RL2455HM 24in LED Gaming Monitor

Mother Board: MSI B150 Gaming M3 Motherboard

Ram: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 Red 2133mhz

Storage: Western Digital WD Blue 1TB 7200rpm & Samsung 750 EVO 250GB SSD

GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 980 OC 4GB

CPU: Intel Core i5 6600K + Cryorig H7 CPU Cooler

PSU: Coolermaster GX 550W CM Storm Edition

Some info and questions:

I'll be using it to run games like dayz, gta 5, csgo, arma and ark, as well as using most of the adobe suite with school, music production and unity 3d.

With that in mind:

- what have i done wrong?

- what am i missing or need?

- Is this setup suitable to run 1440p or should i stay at 1080?

- is i7 worth the upgrade?

- Is the Cpu cooler worth it?

- Anything else that is helpful

Thank you and anything constructive is appreciated :)

Why not wait for the 1060? Also stick with the i5, it's decent enough for a 980.

Wait for the 1060 and aftermarket RX 480's. This is a bit over your budget, but if you can't spend the extra get a cheaper case.

Definately waiting for the 1060 now that i've seen it, and the case is where i will cut corners if i need to but that price should do-able. Thanks
