I have never built a CPU before and will be building my first in a couple of days. I have no clue what to do once I build the computer and turn it on. I have looked around, but everything seems to be a little out of date, a general tour of the BIOS features, or something about overclocking (probably because I will be using an i7-6700k and an Asus z170 AR mobo). I have went through the motherboard manual, but it doesn't seem to list a "step-by-step" process. It is more of an informational layout of all the capabilities.

Is there some sort of general rule for what to do in what order? Or does it depend on the type of motherboard? It would be great if someone could give me some links that could help me out with this.

I should probably mention that I have an i7-6700k but do not want to overclock it just yet. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I read that it automatically overclocks?

Perfect example of a video that does not help my situation. This is just a tour of the new system. I want to know what to do with my computer once I start it up.

You install windows and then use the PC like any regular computer. There's really nothing you need to do with the Bios if you aren't going to OC. Just leave things as is.
