Been a while since I used KUbuntu or any other variation of Ubuntu, but you should be able to boot into recovery mode holding shift while booting. Then go into a shell prompt as root. You may have to mount your drive as read+write first, but I'm not sure about that. As root, you should be able to use 

passwd username

and you'll be prompted to type a new password. Then type exit and resume normal boot.
