I have wanted a powerful PC since 2013 and the one I have now can be defined by the word "shit." It has an A6-6400K and a GTX 750 Ti. My dream is to have an i7 computer with GTX 1000 series graphics by the end of the year. I want it to have an i7-4790K so I can use the 16 GB of memory I have in my PC right now, and because it comes with a stock fan which will fit in my case. Is is worth spending the extra money for an i7-6700K and its DDR4 or not?

I would love a GTX 1080, but that is simply too expensive for me, so I have to go with either a GTX 1070 or a GTX 1060. Whichever one is the best price to performance I will take. The only brand of GPUs I will take is EVGA. I'd also need a new Micro-ATX motherboard for the i7-4790K, so I'd appreciate if I could have any recommendations for one. I'd also need a new power supply because the one I have right now is more likely to explode more than anything else in my house. Everything MUST be able to fit in a Rosewill FBM-01 which is the case I am using now. The only reason I'm keeping this and the 16 GB of memory I;m already using now i s to save money, and because I personally like the case. Please help, thanks!

[EDIT]

If it is worth the money more than the i7-4790K, then I will take an i7-4790 or an i5-4690K.

I'll be buying:

MSI GTX 750 Ti

i5 4460 @ 3.2 GHz (up to 3.4 GHz)

2x4 GB - 8 GB RAM 1600MHz

Asrock H97M Anniversary

PNY SDD 240GB

And that's pretty much it. I would recommend (if you can) just remove that cpu from the motherboard and buy a new one (I suggest going with the i5 4460/4440 - Cheap CPU and great performance).

if you're not overclocking, i'd recommend you get an e3 1231 v3(i7 4770 without iGPU) and a cheapo h81m mobo.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W
