Not sure where to put this, as it's just a bit of fun. Not a new build, not cpu specific and not gpu specific, it's about as general as they come.

ive an itx htpc system which has an Athlon 5350 2.0 quad core cpu, my main rig has a gtx 1080. How do we think it would run if I combined the 2? Obviously cpu would bottleneck the gpu hard, but what sort of settings and frame rate could I hit?

That actually sounds pretty cpu and gpu specific to me...

I assume you mean putting the 1080 into the Athlon system? Don't expect great framerates on any game that requires a modest amount of CPU power. That being said, it will vary GREATLY depending on the game you are playing.

When in doubt, re-format.

Yeah I just thought about trying the 1080 in the itx build. It's currently got an old gtx 650 in there and manages things like rocket league just fine

The answer is max settings, and at the same framerate you get now (assuming you aren't limited by the current gpu in there). The bottleneck happens at the max fps that the cpu can support (due to draw call processing limitations) so settings have 0 effect on this. Graphics settings only affect the gpu's performance, it wouldn't make the draw calls harder to process.

My rig:
CPU: i5 4690k 24/7 @4.4ghz (1.165v) Max 4.7ghz (1.325v) COOLER: NZXT Kraken X61 MOBO: Asus Z97-A   RAM: 16GB Crucial Ballistix Tactical   GPU: EVGA GTX 970 SSC   PSU: EVGA GS 650W   CASE: NZXT Phantom 530 HDD: WD Caviar Blue 1TB + WD Black 2TB
