I am currently selecting parts for a new build. I have chosen a Intel Core i7-6800K 3.4GHz 6-Core Processor. I was wondering if my Corsair H100i would do the job well, or if it would overheat. If you could tell me if the processor will overheat, that will be great! Also, if you could suggest any different water coolers that would do the job as well, but would be cheaper, please comment that too. Thanks!

Any AIO liquid cooler will do an exceptional job, in other words your computer will be more than adequately cooked and you will have a lot of headroom for an overclock.

That cooler should be more than enough to keep that CPU cool as long as you aren't going to be doing crazy overclocking and overvolting on it. It will handle normal overclocking just fine though.

When in doubt, re-format.

The H100i should be ample cooling at stock and probably a respectable overclock.

What are you planning on using this pc for though? Cause the H100 will get you a great overclocking on a quad core like the 6700k
