pcie 3.0 x16 gpu + x4 sata card on Z170?

Go to solution Solved by ChatDaw,

You have to get a motherboard that has a PLX chip giving you "bonus" PCI-e lanes.

I currently plan on buying the ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VIII RANGER for my new system and I am wondering if it is possible to have a GPU using the PCIe 3.0 x16 slot with an electrical x16 connection and have a pcie card with additional SATA ports running in x4 mode, I guess pcie 2.0 speeds would suffice. Would this be possible? As I understand the i7-6700K only has 16 available pcie 3.0 lanes (not counting the 4 lanes that are used for the M.2 slot), but some motherboards advertise being able to have a 3-Way crossfire setup in 8x/8x/4x mode, so I really don't know what to think right now.

Don't bother telling me I don't need more than 6 SATA ports, I do. :P

Thanks in advance!
