I'm getting a new cpu cooler for the i5 6600k. I'm planning to overclock and since I am new to all this I new help on which one  to buy. Currently I'm leaning towards the Corsair h60 v2 but since I have read some negative reviews on it saying that it's very loud and not very good I don't know anymore... So if you guys could tell me if the h60 is a good option or if I should get something else that would be much appreciated!

Get at least a 240mm radiator like a Corsair H100 if you really want water cooling. A high end air cooler would beat the H60 in terms of performance and noise levels...

CPU: i7-12700KF Grill Plate Edition // MOBO: Asus Z690-PLUS WIFI D4 // RAM: 16GB G.Skill Trident Z 3200MHz CL14

GPU: MSI GTX 1080 FE // PSU: Corsair RM750i // CASE: Thermaltake Core X71 // BOOT: Samsung Evo 960 500GB

STORAGE: WD PC SN530 512GB + Samsung Evo 860 500GB // COOLING: Full custom loop // DISPLAY: LG 34UC89G-B

what case do you have?

is noise a concern of yours?

push/pull?

you might consider a hyper 212 evo, or another aircooler.

If you want an easier and cheaper option than water cooling I'd suggest getting a Cryorig H7 from Newegg.  From what I've heard it cools well, is easier to install than a 212 EVO, and won't risk blocking any RAM slots on the motherboard unlike a 212 EVO.

Is it worth paying that extra for the h100? Because I really want the sleek look of watercooling...

The consensus is that 120/140mm AIOs are outclassed by cheaper air coolers that have less points of failure. It's more a question of lower end AIOs not worth paying for if you have options for air cooling.

Personally, if you want performance while retaining the aesthetics of an AIO, I'd advise a Corsair 240mm AIO as suggested before.

Like HKZeroFive said.

Yes it is, you get better cooling performance or the same as the H60 but very silent...
