Hi

After waiting for the past month, I've finally received my Gigabyte GTX 1080 G1 and I'm looking for a monitor upgrade as I am currently using a LGUM68 and its at 60hz and only has freesync. I wish to upgrade to x34 but due to the conversation rates for USD to CAD, this monitor costs 1.7k in Canada instead of the 1.3k in the US. Now I was browsing through the retailers here and noticed that they have a refurbished version of this, but labelled as

XR341CKA

Now I've been doing some research and finally discovering that this is in fact the older codename for the Acer Predator x34. This had me worried as after doing quite a bit of research and has landed me the general conclusion that quite a number of owners who received the first few batches throughout 2015 and early 2016 have landed themselves with the x34 with all the backlightbleeding and IPS glare/glow problems. However, many have reported that the later revisions/batches have less problems, and I"ve also read somewhere that the "fixed" versions are released as x34A.

Therefore, I have 2 questions:

1) Is XR341CKA different from the X34/X34A we can find in retailers now? I'm a bit worried that the former is indeed part of the first released batch of x34s with the BLB and IPS issues.

2) I've done plenty of research through here and overclock forums, even reviews/YT reviews/comments on newegg etc. and noticed that quite a bit of people DO have problems still, such as BLB and IPS glow. So, is this still the issue? Is it worth worrying about? Since its a $1.7k monitor, I expect perfection, and I know that quality wise it delivers it well, but I"m seriously worried about this BLB and IPS problem people are having. In fact, prior to this afternoon, I didnt even know that this problem even existed in monitors. Also, the way Linus/Pauls hardware/randomfrankp/hardwarecanucks and Jayztwocents reviewed this monitor made it feel like its perfect in every way, until I started scrolling down to the comments section and realizing the number of issues owners are having. Thus, I need clarification here. is this a worthy upgrade for a GTX1080? I just wish to buy the best monitor out there so I wont have to ugprade too soon into the future, and I wish for it to not have problems that'll hurt my gaming needs in any way.

Seems that should be a fine monitor, but it's the older version compared to the X34:

That XR341CKA is aimed for AMD card owners using FreeSync... rather go with the real deal X34 with G-Sync.

Actually the CKA has GSYNC. Its the regular CK that has freesync.

I fixed my original post. Yes confused the older monitor with the current FreeSync version still using a similar model name.
