What are you using right now? Could it be just that there are certain areas where you aren't getting signals due to wall placements? If so, have you considered powerline wifi extenders (or other wifi extenders)?

Regardless this is the router I use at home and have had no reason to complain:

definitely not an issue with walls. I just require more speed and security to fully utilize the network potential. and close to 10 clients on the network.

Why not get an Access Point? Something like UniFi Ac Pro would be maybe even overkill. It's not a router though so you don't get all those fancy features...

If I were to choose from your list, I'd probably go for the Nighthawk, it's proven to be really good.

hmm interesting, I'm taking a look at it now but that UniFi was a bit overpriced xD the particular website showed the Unifi AC Pro for like 3000 dollars xD found a different one for 120. xD

but aren't routers more secure than access points? I'm kind of a security freak. the wifi is on a different network in our house

WPA2-PSK AES is the same algorithm regardless of the hardware it is implemented on, so no, there is no difference in the security of a SoHo router and an Access Point, which support that encryption method.

My advice is to get a UAP-Pro and maybe upgrade your network with an additional one if needed at some point in the future :)

well routers do come with firewall. among other features that can be used as security layer that idk if AP's can do. so I might go with routers because they also support over 1900 Total bandwidth for a decent pricing. and we might actually use it as a router as well so I'd like to keep options open for upgrading etc so a router is the route i'm going to go (no pun intended)

That is true, SoHo routers generally have some kind of low level firewall, APs does not.

Nothing beats getting the AP close to the client, so placing a 1900 ac router in the corner of the house will in most cases not be as good as having an AP in the room where you most often use wifi.

You do have a router now, right?

haha yeah, i get it :D of those you mentioned, i would go for the

AC66U
