Hi,

i almost finished planning my first gaming build and would like to ask you for your opinion on this.

CPU:            AMD FX-8350 4.0Ghz 8-Core

Mainboard:  GIGABYTE GA-990X-Gaming SLI

RAM:           Kingston HyperX Fury Red, 8Gb, 1600 Mhz

GPU:           Zotac Geforce GTX 970 4Gb

SSD:            ADATA 128GB Premium Pro SP900

HDD:           Western Digital Blue 1TB WD10EZEX

PSU:           Corsair CP9020076 CS550M 550W 80+ Gold

Case:          Corsair Carbide SPEC-01

In Germany, where i live, this setup would be about 800€ so approx. 887$

I have not decided what CPU Cooler to use, do you have any tips or recommendations? (Should be Air btw)

Will there be any bottlenecks, what would you change?

I thougt adding an "exhaust" Casefan, would it make any difference?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Regards from Germany

Finn

Hi Finn !

There is one thing I wouldn't do if I were you : buying a 970 with all the cool stuff released now (RX 480 / GTX 1060 at the same price point), the 3.5Gb of VRAM is really a reason not to buy one with the more compelling offers appearing right now. I know there is no 1060 yet and not custom RX 480, but you might want to wait and see. Or look around for used 980/390X if you really want something now.

CPU : i7 8700k @5GHz, GPU : ASUS GTX 1080 Ti STRIX, RAM : 2x8Go 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance, MB : ASUS Prime Z370-A, PSU : CM V850, Case :  NZXT S340, CPU Cooler : NZXT Kraken x62, Monitor : Acer Predator XB271HU 27" 1440p 165Hz, OS : Windows 10 Home 64 bits

If you are going with 8350 then get cpu cooler with fan blowing at the mobo aswell to keep parts on mobo cool aswell. Also if your not too fond of amd's cpu then if you have spare cash go with intel cpu's, for better single core perf, lower temps and upgrade path.

''Daddy CumTits 2.0'' (pc):

CPU - Intel i7 8700k

GPU - Asus Strix 1080 8gb

Wow, that looks great. I think i would replace the H110M with a B150 Mortar, read lots of bad things about cheap ASRock MoBos.

asrock is quite decent for a mobo company, biostar mobos are the one to watch out for if you're buying motherboards.
