Mounting an H100 without backplate

Hello everyone,

I have a used (but working, I tested it) corsair H100 that I got for free. However I am unable to mount it on my computer because I don't have the backplate for it and I haven't found one for sale. Is there any way to mount it without a backplate? Would it hurt the motherboard?

Thanks for any help

it'd be possible, but with all the bad press on bad temperatures and mounting issues, the backplate is the main anchor to keep from those issues.

really any hydra-series backplate can be used as long as the attachment hardware is used. using the o-ring mod will better the chances of temp issues.

that's expensive for a backplate though, especially since I would probably have to ship it across the ocean. I'll see exactly聽how much I'd pay, thanks for the answer
