gpu Planning to upgrade GPU (help needed)

Good evening,

 

I'm having an headache of decision making.. 

 

The goal - to upgrade my graphics card (if my setup wont bottleneck the new bought GPU)

 

My PC specs:

 

CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 B55 - 3.2Ghz 

Motherboard: MSI 870-c45 - PCI Express 2.0 slot with x16 operation (PCI Express Bus SPEC V2.0 compliant)

RAM: 12gb ( FURY Memory Blue - 8GB Kit* (2x4GB) - DDR3 1333MHz CL9 DIMM and PATRIOT DDR3 4GB Kit* (2x2GB) 1333MHZ CL9)

Current GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6870 1GB

Power supply: 620w 

Monitor: AOC e2243Fws - LED monitor - 21.5" - 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz

 

Questions :

1. Is my pc setup as old as i think it is?

2. Should i upgrade GPU or should i upgrade basically everything..?

New gpu,cpu and mobo will prob do fine.

Hmm, your cpu though old is about as powerful as new budget cpus such as the athlon 860k. You could get an r9 380. Your cpu would probably bottleneck the gpu but not too much and you would still get much better framerates than with the hd 6870.

sadly that CPU will be huge bottleneck for most of the new GPUs.

honestly ur cpu will bottleneck ur gpu....u need a full update...any new gpu u buy will not give satisfactory results..

Thanks everyone. I was afraid that i needed to upgrade my cpu, in order to do that i need to upgrade my motherboard.. Ech, i guess you guys answered my questions! Thanks agian
