Hi

my build:

AMD FX 4100

AMD Radeon HD 7770

Asus M5A78L LE

8GB DDR3 Ram

500GB HDD + 1TB HDD

Corsair CX450 PSU

I'm planning on getting an RX480 or a GTX 1060 and if I do that my CPU is gonna Bottleneck quite hard.

I was thinking about getting an FX 8350 or 70. I'm not a pro so I thought I'm gonna get your reccomendations before I do anything.

Of course I also plan on getting an SSD.

Thanks.

if you would want that CPU you need a new mobo so i recommend going for a i5 6500 and the cheapest mobo and use that

Better get i5 6500 and it will beat that amd CPU.

I would even take i3 over that amd 8 core.

For CPUs, I'm 100% Intel fanboy.

Intel i7 12700K | Gigabyte Z690 Gaming X DDR4 | Pure Loop 240mm | G.Skill 3200MHz 32GB CL14 | CM V850 G2 | RTX 3070 Phoenix | Lian Li O11 Air mini

Samsung EVO 960 M.2 250GB | Samsung EVO 860 PRO 512GB | 4x Be Quiet! Silent Wings 140mm fans

WD My Cloud 4TB

Sure there will be some bottlenecking. I'm guessing it won't be that bad, but it really isn't worth it to upgrade to a 4 year old CPU.

If you've got the cash I would build a new PC and try to sell this one second hand, if you're on a budget, get the GPU now and wait until later this year to upgrade the CPU, RAM and mobo.

I was looking on the ASUS website and it said my motherboard supports this CPU.

I'm not gonna sell it. I'll upgrade it part by part. Everything but the 1TB HDD is gonna change. Over some time that is.

They need to be DDR4 though. And the AMD CPU doesn't support it <- Just a heads up

Why does it have to be DDR4? On the amazon page it sais DDR3. Getting DDR4 is no problem but I don't know why. I'm noob.

DDR3-SDRAM, DDR3L-SDRAM that's what it says.

Skylake (i5 6500 Architecture) doesn't use ddr3. DDR3 runs on a higher voltage compared to ddr4. If ddr3 ram is used, it can fry the cpu (don't want to do that). There is modified versions of ddr3 called ddr3l. I would prefer getting a ddr4 board over ddr3

OOOOH there are two different versions of this board. I got you my friend

But the one with K at the end is only ddr3 the other has an A

The "k" at the end stands for unlocked. The chip can be overclocked but to overclock, you need a "z" chipset motherboard (expensive)

why the 470?

Because it's pretty much a cheaper 480 (300~ less stream processors)

An i5 would be better for those purposes.
