1150 vs 1151

I'm planning on doing a new build soon and I have been presented with the question of 1551 or 1550.

 

 

I will most likely start with an i3 and then upgrade to an i5 or i7 once I have some more money, so my dilemma is do I go with the cheap 1150 socket with ddr3, or future proof myself with ddr4 and the ability to upgrade to kaby lake?!

Also Zen? I don't mind waiting a bit, so is it worth it?

The price difference between Haswell and Skylake isn't that much. In fact, I'm seeing the i3 6100 being cheaper than the i3 4170. Motherboards cost roughly the same and DDR4 costs the same as DDR3.

 

If I were you, I'd go LGA1151.

Get 1151 because it has ddr4
