Yeah the 980 and 1070 go toe to toe, id prefer the 8gb of the 1070 but if you can get the 6gb model of a 980ti for a good bit less, and have the power supply for it, go with that.

The most powerful one in the list is the GTX 1070, but for 1080p, RX 480 is already enough.

 

Most powerful to weaker: GTX 1070>GTX 980 Ti>R9 390x>RX 480
