Hello Guys,

Around April 20th I bought my first real rack server, an ex corporate 2nd hand HP Proliant DL160 G6. It came with pretty weak Xeon L5630's, 16GB DDR3 ECC and a 460 watt PSU. It is in a U1 server chassis, and so far I love it. I recently upgraded from dual L5630's to dual X5670 CPUs' and it pull's like a train although running hot. It has a pretty bad HDD in it, at only 160GB, but the price is what I'm happy about, the server was €125 and the CPU ugrade was €170. That is including delivery fees, which for heavy servers was less than I expected. What was your first server>?

Yours faithfully

It is currently rigged to a joke of a machine I threw together after my ASUS ROG G750JM broke, dual core Pentium G840 an Radeon HD 7870, 8GB of RAM. The motherboard and PSU are nice though. Corsair RM850X and ROG maximus V formula

Yeah, I use my server for Minecraft, SETI@Home and as a cloud storage. I considered two 15k SAS drives, 500GB in RAID0 for better data storage, but I just don't need it.

I want to fix my laptop first, although with an i7 3770k it could probably kick my laptops ass, I like the portability, handy when I wanna move around my work areas.

I love how this went from a server to my personal joke rig, currently running on a joke of a test bench. It has a GTX 295 in it there, but currently a Gigabyte HD 7870 overclocked to 1180MHz

I have another Pentium 4, HT LGA 775 that is doubled stamped both 3GHz and 3.4GHz, from a Dell. Either Intel or Dell did something fishy on their consumer PCs, which isn't very surprising at all. That is worth about 2x what a normal Pentium 4 is worth, so about €2

I built my desk to the wall using my own design and wood, I love the fact I can sleep on it and it doesn't even move, so wheels won't work. I'd love to test the other obvious thing on it, but TFW no GF

I am not a fan of network hacking, but leave me with a windows PC and I'll use Linux to remove that password in 5-10 minutes (although your files will still be encrypted, it makes getting at them fairly easy). I know enough about hacking to make it hard for anyone to get in.

Yeah its not that hard, you need programs and knowledge and also something many people HATE to learn is languages

Not even that, there is an actual program run through the command shell that removes it, you need to open the host's HDD, and find the SAM files buried deep in System 32, windows really i joke of an OS, that said I'm using Windows 10 now.
