game saves

Go to solution Solved by nishank93,

Please don't post two threads about the same thing. And since your question is better defined here, I'm going to answer here.

Steam allows you to store your games on a partition or an external drive, but I'm not sure whether it allows game installs on a NAS (network attached storage). Depending on what games you are talking about, or even whether or not they are on Steam, locate and backup your game save files, and uninstall some of them is the best way to go (i.e., if you can't expand storage).

Hi guys. Im new to this forum and tech. So... I would like to ask if I can move all my downloaded games to a file server and still be able to access the games without the games on my rig? If I cant, what would you suggest I do as im running out of space. Thanks in advance

I do not think you can do that. Delete games you are not currently playing and reinstall them when you want to play  them again. Buy a new hardrive.

Thanks to nishank93 and Qpm5. Ill do that then. Just for another question, what else can I do with a file server than just saving files and backups? Thanks in advanced.

You can stream media from it to other devices.
