Hi, I have a problem with my pc. I was playing far cry 4 (Medium setting) when suddenly the monitor just went black.  it has it's green power light on and I could hear the game sound still running. Then I restarted then pc and it was fine again until 5-8mins later it turn black again with the windows still running. I can't figure out the problem. Any ideas?  My system is:

Amd A10 5800k

T2 mini cooler

8gb Kingston Hyper x memory

Gigabyte A75 Fm/Fm2 mobo

Msi R9 380 gpu

Aerocool 600w 80+ bronze psu

 

 

Any idea of what's causing the blackout?

Do you have another monitor and PSU available?

I'd look at the heat thing first. The 5800k doesn't like the stock cooler. adding an AIO you need to make sure you have air running across the board in the cpu area. ( the cooler master gemin2 helps here ). ( you need to check clearance issues, ram/gpu,case etc. )

the 380 is HOT, especially with a back plate. I had to install a fan on the back of mine for peace of mind.

I tried replacing the Gpu. From R9 380 to hd6670. And after a couple of minutes, it did the same thing.  So that rules out the gpu. Then I removed the gpu, plugged the monitor into the onboard output and there was no diaplay. So I tried resetting the motherboard and still no luck. Still no display. Could it be the motherboard?  Thank you guys
