A secondary rig

I am in need of a secondary rig on the cheap, and I have an AM3 board laying around and I need to know what the most powerful cpu under $50 for it is. I also have an old AM2+ board and a core 2 quad rig but I prefer not to use that last one. Any suggestions? I am also open to purchasing a board and cpu for under $150 total

My same workload of basically wanting as much performance as possible  but it is for my dads house, as my core 2 duo laptop just died (RIP latitude D630)

Dang, that cpu was cheaper than all the other quad cores I saw, which were all over $45
