Reason for upgrading:

- I need something to use for my thesis next year and for work after I graduate.

Aim:

- Developing and messing around game engines, such as Unity, Unreal and Ogre3D.

- Using Maya and AutoCAD. (The maya to go along with Texturing and making character models, the AutoCAD to help around with my relative's business).

- And the occasional gaming from time to time

Monitors:

I've got a Samsung monitor(capable of 1920 x 1080) that my dad gave awhile back, though I'm still thinking if I should for a dual monitor after 2-3 years (or possibly when I build a new one after I find work.)

Peripherals:

I already have a Wacom Bamboo tablet and a Ttesports theron, which I'm happy with. Though I'm still looking around for a Cherry MX Blue that I'd like. (I get annoyed with Browns and Red, since I tend to graze other key accidentally because of my big hands.)

BUILD:

CPU: Core i5 3570

MOBO: Asrock Z77 Extreme 4 (Had a relative recommend this one)

RAM: Kingston Hyper X T1 @1600 CL9 4GBx2

SSD: Kingston Hyper X 90GB or 120 GB (whichever I can find first).

HDD: Seagate 1tb (ST31000524AS)

GPU: Palit Jetstream 660 Ti (I swear this is the only brand in the Philippines that's close to it's US price, at least from what I've seen online. )

CASE: I was originally planning on getting a NZXT Phantom 410 Gun Metal, but was able to buy a Bitfenix Colossus Window Venom edi. for Php 3500 (for around USD 80 last Dec.)

CPU COOLER: Cooler Master Hyper 212 plus

PSU: Seasonic X-750 Gold Series

FANS: I'll probably just fill it up with Bitfenix Spectre or Spectre Pro fans.

TOTAL COST :

Around USD 1500 maximum budget with this being around USD 1299 or Php 53300.

This is the first PC I'll be building, so I'm a bit clueless about what I want vs what I need... I'd appreciate anybody's input or recommendations.

Thanks in advance~

For your cpu you might want to upgrade to the k version for better overlocking and it's only ~$30 more and you have room in the budget. But if you don't plan on any over clocking then the regular 3570 is plenty. The same applies for your cpu cooler, a hyper212 will allow mild performance but if you do get the regular 3570 then the stock cooler is good enough. For the kind of work you're looking to do, 16gb of ram will Make things run much smoother. The power supply for your build is overkill, based on your current specs a 500W is already plenty. To extend the lifespan of your build you can consider getting the 3570k as the overclocking will allow you to not fall behind as fast and you could also add another 660ti down the road to further improve performance.

3770k, Asrock Extreme 4, 16GB Dominator Plat, AX760i, 250GB BX100, 1.5TB Seagate, Win 7 Home Prem
