This needs a 6700k, also a better cpu cooler if you want to stay air then a Noctua DH-14/15 or BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro. I'd recommend an AIO though.

Also the Strix 1080 has terrible OC ability, get the FTW from EVGA.

That's all the changes I'd make, the rest looks good. Make sure to get some nice braided cables (in white ofc) for that sexy psu.

I dont know.... why not?

I like the looks of it? Are you asking why not a 6700K?

edited it. and yeah, get a 6700k.... or else get a H170.

I wasn't planning on doing any overclocking. I was thinking an AIO water cooling system, but was a waste on a 6700.

How come ? It will give you good gains on both the CPU and especially the GPU. For a system of that price i'd be a waste not to.

But yes if you won't overclock then the cooler is fine.

I tend not to mess with things I dont understand :D thats also why i'm still single LOL jk.

Just never got into it, but let me rework the build with the suggested changes.

I was reviewing the case and CPU Cooler listed above... the Deepcool (i have both in there lol editing it out)

Worried the case wont be air flow suitable... any opinions on either/both?

Meanwhile if I go with the deepcool, i can drop the 2 other case fans... saving me 26 dollars ! :D

  • 2 weeks later...

Just snagged the GTX 1080 FTW.

Question - now that i'm adding all the stuff to the carts, I found this :

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820156083&ignorebbr=1

Will I notice a significant difference in performance from this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233716

Just trying to go with a more themed base build. And the ram matches nearly perfectly.

Thanks!

I will press the checkout button when I hear back from someone with a reasonable opinion/suggestion :D

WEEEEEEEE New PC time!
