So I'm going to be building a computer to run audio recording and editing software, such as Cubase and Pro Tools. One thing I am skeptical about is what CPU is going to be most effective using these programs and if I'll see a performance difference. My goal is to build a computer that's close to completely silent and can also handle massive work loads while recording several audio channels at a time with a decent amount of plugins running. It also needs to be 24/7 on and reliable as close to 100%. So I need some help from the form because I am not an expert or as experienced as some other people. So let's see what builds we can come up with for less than $4,000 for just the computer. Thanks guys.

I would contact Avid in regards to the CPU. They announced a partnership with AMD for Pro Tools and Media Composer. Don't know the entire gist, but it may be worth looking into if Pro Tools is going to be your go to DAW.
