Looking into buying one of these gpu's. The asus one has 2 hdmi ports while the mis has only 1. Also I think the performance is different. If anyone has experience with these cards, input would be greatly appreciated.

The design and clock speeds obviously. To know for sure which one is better and mroe worthy u need to find reviews where they compare these two in performance, heat and noise.

U should know that many people on this forum dont recommend ASUS cards.

U can find MSI benchmarks on most youtrube channels since its been out among 1st after market cards :) Its cheaper so I would get it based on the informatiopn u can find.

I wouldn't buy either personally since they are on the higher price end of 1070s, also don't buy from ASUS if warranties are important to you, MSI is fine on that end. But now matter what card you buy they won't overclocked much differently, and so long as they aren't reference any cooler will do.

Preference.
I don't like ASUS cards because their cooling isn't great at all, I've had higher temps with them than other cards (same card, other manufacturer) at same speeds etc ;)
The MSI version looks better aswell and fits red themed buils better (Though I don't really like the new design).
The ASUS card can be used in all builds because its just black/grey-isch with RGB
