i have background in javascript, i just want to ask what is nodejs and lua?

NodeJS is basically a package of Chrome's javascript engine. It offers a server-side Javascript runtime, and also features a event-driven, non-blocking I/O model, and a great package manager called npm.

Lua is a pretty awesome embeddable scripting language .
