Watch a couple videos on installing a stock cooler and make sure you follow it to the T. How fast is the fan on the stock cooler running? Because the fan may be broken and spinning but slow enough to where its not doing enough.

Also how much thermal compound did you use and how did you apply it?

I thought the stock cooler is just simply put it over the CPU and the 4 holes, twist and push down to secure. Not sure how to tell exactly how fast the fan is, but by a visual inspection it seems normal (quick). I removed old existing Thermal Compound from my CPU and added new. Also did this to the stock-cooler. Temps are currently still so fkn high.

Graphics card is 80 and so is my CPU, (basically idle). Rising to 90 each when I'm playing CSGO.

As long as you twist it in the correct direction ;).

When Intel first moved to this cooler design many a year ago, they didn't come with the best of instructions. The arrows on the cooler indicating to twist are the direction to twist to release, and during installation on the first few systems in a local custom computer building store, all were twisted to release after installation thinking it was securing them. Needless to say customers returned wondering why the CPU cooler had fallen off.

I think that just maybe a bad chip.

If you've replaced the thermal paste, reapplied the CPU cooler, I don't know.

Maybe try the i3 you had again? If It does do the same thing as your i5 did, It was most likely the CPU. If It doesn't I think there maybe a problem with the pins on the mobo? I don't want to jump to things, but It's just something to look out for! :P

You do have air flow around your components... right? Like a fan for exhaust or a fan for intake?
