Why do we need VPN ?

 

I never heard of this until today. Does it still work ? What's he catch ?

That is only ONE way for a website to figure out your location. I'm using this trick to access Chinese content that is normally blocked outside of China, but it doesn't work for every website.

So some websites look at chrome and some look at your IP to determine your location ? People use this successfully to access geo-locked content.

I can guaranty you that the only websites that are not looking at your IP for geo-locked content are websites that don't care about you geo-location, that's why I've only ever saw this work with Chinese website.

Roasted teeth (Google him) used it in India to watch GoT episode.
