weird Google docs view

every time i try to open a file in google docs via a link. i get html code. then when i click download original everything is just fine.

can this be fixed?

Is this on one device or anything you log into? If it is on everything then check your account settings or preferences there might be something that has been changed. if it is only one device then ask a google technician

its on all my devices, but i can't find any setting that could cause this

Weird, I would ask a google tech in that case. Or just don't open docs from a link
