hi. i have 2xGtx 670s, i7 4770K OC, 16 Gigs of 1600 Memory and SSD install location for After effects. but when i import just a 1 min simple like 100Mb mp4 video say from shadow play it stutters just to play. even in new composition with nothing done to it. i also have Premiere Pro , which works Alhamdulillah Flawlessly in same PC, and mind you thats installed on my WD caviar Black , not SSD.

i want to use After effects for a long time, but i cant find solution to this issue at all. i have even removed one of GPU just to see if SLI is the issue but no gain.

its weird cause in preferences i have allocated max amount of Ram to it and also increased cache size to like 100Gigs which is WAYYY more than my typical 200~250Mb video renders which i do easily and very quickly on Premiere pro. i have the latest version of After effects, its 13.7.1.6

there must be a solution. can some one help me or may be link me to the solution for this? i have searched found some but done all with no real solution to the problem. its frustrating now i have reinstalled it like 5 times already.

really need assistance.

thanks.

Does it play for 10 sec, then stop?

After effects chugs ram. You probably want 64gb of ram to run it well. What res and codec is your footage. What version of after effects.

Also aftereffects isn't a video editor and probably not the best for game footage. Make you edit in premiere and then cut and edit only the needed part in after effects.

no it does not play smoothly at all, it plays like frame by frame, weird and annoyingly! and really? 64 Gigs? then why is it that premiere pro does not cross 10Gigs WHILE rendering??? also i am noticing that while rendering is going on , permiere uses 100% CPU and about 10Gig max of my ram and its pretty fast to render.

but in after effects i do literally nothing, not even make a new project, i open it, drag just a simple 100Mb video Mp4 which i rendered from premiere, like in its final form, just to check, and AE does not play it properly, too much stutters and CPU use is 100% with max RAM usage JUST FOR THE PLAYBACK... is something wrong or is AE just like this? im not getting it....

Ae is like is. It render each fram and stores it in ram unlike premiere. Also try lowering your playback res.

thats the worst part man, no matter how low i select my playback full, half, third and even on Quarter the playback is all the same.

i know AE is not purely an editing software, but there are very cool Effects that are not available in premiere, i also want to use that Text editing that looks like part of the video. here i show u my channel , i done all videos using premier pro, all on my own. i just want to get a little more creative and make better videos.

is there a way i can get all or some effects in AE to Premier pro?

this is my Channel

also watch my latest Video

ps: if u note in the Attila the Hun video the first intro i made in AE the text animation is so different from what i get in premiere pro. any way i can get all effects from AE to premiere pro? that would be great!
