Hey LTT nerds :)

I have found some parts I believe will do the trick but I'm not sure - I have build quite a few pc's the past 20 years (I'm getting old :/) I just don't have any experience in the 4k world.

My plan is as follows: I would like a white and black theme, hence quite a few of the selections though it doesnt matter too much since I don't plan to sit and stare into my pc all day.

I need the pc for streaming and youtube content, and I'm wondering if I can bump up my stream and content to 4k with these parts (I have no clue about 4k).

I have used pcpartpicker for the pricing (I live in Denmark so the prices don't really translate well since I have to pay 25% VAT)

Part List:

CPU - i7-6700k (8 threads 4Ghz should be fine).

CPU Cooler - H115i just picking the newest version, I usally buy noctua coolers but for the looks I'm going with this.

Motherboard - here I'm going with the VIII Ranger since it seems cheap and I don't really need all the features you get now days.

RAM - Savage 16gb should be fine 3k mhz (mainly for the looks).

Storage - I have a ton of 1 & 2 TB HDDs so going with a 850 EVO 500gb SSD for boot and the games I use.

PSU - Corsairs 760W 80+ Platinum fully modular.

GPU - GTX 1080 (planning on a strix version since it looks decent and I don't to fiddle around with those closed loop liquid coolers).

Case - NZXT H440 W/B version looks great in my opinion the only alternative would be a Danger Den double wide case but it is just too much acrylic for me.

At this time this would cost me around 1700$ but I really want to know if there is a chance that these spec's can run games at 4k while I record and/or stream them :)

PS. any screen suggestions would also be nice :)

Edit: Forgot to add screen

It depends on how well you want them to run. At medium settings 60 fps you would be fine. If you intend to record and stream, consider getting a 5820k and an x99 board. The extra 2 cores would be beneficial to you.

4k is quite the task still even for a top end GPU if you intend to max out settings

I would get a cheaper PSU (something like the EVGA Supernova G2 550w/650w) but i suspect you might be considering SLI so then you would need that extra wattage.

Otherwise looks good.

May i suggest 1440p ultrawide?

You'll get a nice little performance boost and ofc the wider presentation.

1440p ultrawide monitors:

LG 34UC88-B

Acer Predator X34bmiphz (g-sync)

4k monitor

Acer Predator XB281HKbmiprz (g-sync)

G-sync could really help compensate when the FPS dips as you won't get any tearing or stuttering.

I was looking at xeon's when I started but I thought that the 8 threads and at least 4ghz clock speed would be better vs 12 threads and something like 3.3ghz

Thanks I'll look into the 1440p and also the monitors, honostly I don't care if I play at 1080p or 4k I kind of intend this pc to improved my viewers experience :)

Also I need to refer to something like this when we talk about CPU's - http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i7-6700K-vs-Intel-Core-i7-5820K

In terms of game performance, the 5820k will perform nearly identically to the 6700k. You will get almost identical frame rate. The difference is in terms of encoding and rendering, which is two things you would be doing for video production and streaming. I would not recommend a Xeon for your purposes.

I guess I should have mentioned that I have a dual cpu xeon ws I render video on normally, don't think that will happen if I make 4k content but right now that just stands and renders 24/7 if needed

Above 1080p no one really cares. Few people of any record and publish gaming videos above 1080 p, and many of the most famous ones still only do it at 720p. Stick with 1080 p for now so you can get max settings 60fps.
