HP Pavilion dv6 GPU driver

Hey. I have an almost 6 year old HP Pavilion dv6-3016AX and have reinstalled the OS. Unfortunately the drivers did not work for it and I have tried different versions of mobile Crimson and HP drivers with no results. The drivers successfully install but it cannot detect the GPU.

 

Specs:

AMD Phenom II Quad-Core Mobile Processor N930 (2.0GHz, 2MB L2 Cache)

8GB DDR3 SDRAM (2 DIMMs)

ATI Mobility Radeon HD5650

Don't know if this will work but, try installing just the amd drivers from leshcats,don't install the intel part of it

Sadly no luck. Used DDU to uninstall any previous drivers and replaced it with the leshcats one but it still couldn't detect the GPU after the AMD drivers installed. Do you have any other suggestions or advice?

The GPU doesn't support windows 10.

I assume it doesn't have any sort of Integrated graphics yes?

just the HD 5650, have you tried using older amd drivers? like 14.4 or something

That's what I was thinking yesterday. I'll give Windows 7 a try as it worked fine on that. Thanks for the info.

The box says it has switchable graphics but I don't believe that is true as I have never seen any option or way to change it even when the OS included all the default software.

Unfortunately it is still not working. I am currently on Windows 7 and the leshcat 16.2 drivers don't seem to work.

Use older drivers straight from AMD, don't use leshcats, ermm try the 14.12 or something

good chance that they removed support for your system and card from the new drivers, as they have done for mine in anything after 16.2

Success! I installed the 13.1 drivers from AMD and it works beautifully. Thanks for the help, everyone

Ahahahah try higher drivers mate, go to like ermmm 14.4 or something, 13.1 is like sooooooooooooo old
