I currently have a PC i built but it feels like the CPU is maxing out because i have an i5 but i like to have all different tasks running while gaming.

My question is what would you do to make this PC better.

I can only spend around $500-600 more (Canadian)

Here is the main things I have.

CPU- i5 4690k

GPU- R9 390 gaming Gigabyte

Mobo- z97x gaming 5 Gigabyte

16GB ram ddr3 2300

Cooler- Hyper 212 evo

Samsung SSD 850 EVO

Thanks for any help ahead of time.

1. Do you FEEL like your cpu is maxed out or do you KNOW its maxed out via CPU usage% numbers
2. Also check your RAM and HDD usage to see if maybe those are being bogged down/ maxed out

3. "but i like to have all different tasks running while gaming" what kind of tasks ? are they related to gaming?

If your CPU is actually being maxed out and you don't want to close background apps,

then sure spend money on an i7 which has more threads, should be able to handle multi-tasking a bit better,

I doubt its your CPU being maxed out, usually its a matter of needing more RAM or freeing up RAM

1. I can tell the CPU % is always in the high 80s and up

2. Ram and HDD/SDD usage is all very low even when doing Multiple things. Usually under 60%

3. Yes so games running along with Discord or skype and also browsers and such.

I was looking at the 4790 is it good for this situation thank again

is your CPU usage that high when you're not running games?? or is that during games? if its during games then that's normal
