But what about a used 980ti?
or like a R9 Fury?

If you can get your hands on a used Ti for about the price of a new 970, perhaps. Never used a Fury, but I can say with 100% certainty that it's better than 780 Ti's in SLI. In fact, since you're only looking at nine months or so, you might be able to get an ex-miner AMD card on the cheap. Like, really cheap. Those cards typically are drained of most of their lives by the time they're swapped out, so grabbing, say, an R9 390X or R9 Fury for the price of a 480 might not be a bad deal.

Hello Guys, I need help!

I will be upgrading my GPU within the next month.

My current setup is:

i5 4570 and two gtx 780s in SLI.

and my Monitor resolution is 1440p,

Why until March 17?

I do military service (Switzerland) from March 2017 on. And won't be able to use my Gaming PC anymore.
Since BF1 and Titanfall2 are upcoming, I want to upgrade my GPU so I can run both games at max setting.

I get that a GTX1070 or 1080 does not make much sense, since I will unbuild my Computer and sell some parts in March.

But until then I want to get a decent gaming experiance for a reasonable price.

Do you have any suggestions which card I should choose?

I am also considering used parts since it is a secure source here in Switzerland.

I do not care wheter you recommend team green or team red, just give some points why you recommend the specific card!

Thanks in advance!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

DOn't run SLI! It's not worth it!

Just buy 1 GTX 1070 and you will be golden!

You can keep your current rig. It'll be fine. No need to sell it. And why Military service?

If we're only talking about an upgrade to last nine months, I don't know that I'd even do it. 1070 doesn't make sense for that timeframe, and the 480 is not enough of an upgrade unless you're having power and heat issues.

You are right, SLI is not worth it but the GPUs I have are 3 years old ;)

In Switzerland every male person has to do military service  \(^^)/

And during my service (5months) I won't play once, thats why I will sell some parts.

But do you think the two gtx780s will do fine with the new games at 1440p and max settings? I dont think so, because they can't even run current games like Rainbow six siege or BF4 at max settings :P

I do not have power issues, because electricity is cheap here.

But what about a used 980ti?
or like a R9 Fury?

Where I live I can't get a used mining card, but an 980ti seems like an Option.

See what you can do. It's enough of an upgrade that it's worthwhile. Best-case scenario, you can turn it right back around on the used market in March.

Just wondering... Are bicycles fully fased out already?

You want to know if the Swiss Infantry is still using bicycles?

No this is part of our past ;)

Started to end some 10+ years ago, so I think you might be lucky there. :P Bicycles are a great way of transport, if you live like me, in some really flat part of the world. But bicycles in Switzerland...
