There is a way to migrate the OS to the SSD without reinstalling, however it's a little complicated. I did it a few times and it works great, but unless you know what you're doing, you should just do a fresh install.

I've finally bought a ssd to add to my build, its a adata premier 120gb. I currently have a wd 1tb blue where the operating system is installed, can I simply move the operating system to the SSD and use the HDD as storage or is it more complicated than that? thank you.

Thanks, I think i'll just do a fresh install on the ssd

Also cloning files from an HDD to SDD is not good for it. Just fresh install

No you first need to format the SSD to gpt so windows will install on it. Then format the HDD and you need the windows CD or ISO to boot from and go through the setup process.
