Will my computer be using my integrated graphics as default unless I do something that requires my higher end dedicated gpu?

If your on a desktop then it should just use your dedi all the time, for a laptop it should auto switch, but if you want to make sure for a certain program you can set it in the graphics cards control panel (Atleast I know you can for nividia dedicated cards).

Depend on where your plug your display inputs, if you plug them into the motherboard, it will use the interated graphics and the never will never work, plug your displays into the gpu if you have one. With that said nowadays integrated graphics got really good and they are more perfomant than a X30 series nvidia cards for example :)

On most laptops, yes that is the default.  Generally this can also be customized in ways that vary by manufacturer and model, but this is the default behaviour.

On a desktop, no, you will be on your dedicated graphics card at all times, unless you do something to manually change that.

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Okay cool, I remember having trouble on my laptop, for some reason it tried to run minecraft using the intel integrated graphics and after some annoying research I discovered this and changed it to use my 980m haha

Had the same thing :) It seems to auto detect fine for steam games and stuff but I would suggest making sure for other things like minecraft xD

Yea, for Minecraft you have to manually add javaw.exe in the Nvidia control panel. Most other games are detected automatically.

Ah yes on my laptop at least, there was a problem where the dynamic switching mode simply couldn't activate on OpenGL games, even if you manually told it do.  I had to switch to "Fixed" to force it to work.
