Hello all and thanks in advance for the info.  I just replaced my psu with a evga 550gs and put new thermal compound on my cpu.   I haven't work on a computer to this level in probably about a decade.  I was nervous about any issues I could have created so I have been monitoring my temps constantly.  The temps were great in the beginning, with most temps dropping at least 4 to 5 degrees, but after watching a movie SpeedFan was reading  my mobo at 196c.  I'm pretty sure at that temp I could use it as a grill, so I'm sure it was an error. I checked the bios temps and all was fine and after the reboot SpeedFan read the temps normally again ( mid to low 30s). Is there any chance that this is a sign of a problem to come?  Or is this simply just a fluke?  Thanks again.

Just a Fluke, if it was actually that temp you could have cooked burgers on it! :)
