YouTube app crashes on Android

I'll get on a video and about 5 minutes in it'll stop responding and crash, I've already tried clearing the cache.

Is it an old phone? Older phones tend to run out of memory, force killing the youtube app as result.
If that happends, upgrading would be the best solution

No, it's a Galaxy S6 with Android 6.0.1.

Probably, It only just recently started happening and I've had the phone since October.

It's built in... I guess I could disable it and reinstall all updates.

Yes. Remove all of the Youtube data and empty the cache and then disable it in settings and reinstall the app.
