Hello!

I am new to the forum but I have lurked in the shadows reading for a while. I am currently getting parts for a new computer, I will mainly use it for gaming, but I also do some light graphic design (drawing with stylus type of stuff). I have a semi decent computer at the moment but I would like to upgrade it.

I have the following parts for the new build: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/7K28KZ

I also have 2 ssds that i will steal from my old computer.

I am a bit unsure what to do regarding GPU and CPU. For the cpu i am leaning towards a I5-6600k, but I am not 100% sure. My budget is a bit small so it feels a bit much to buy a 1080 for the GPU, is the 1070 the obvious choice if I dont want to spend the money and buy a 1080?

My last question is if its worth getting a m.2 ssd or if I am better off getting 2 cheeper ssds and putting them in a raid config?

All ideas are welcome and I would not mind if someone has a compleatly different idea for how i should proceed. The parts mentioned in the link are kinda needed though as i allready have them.

Thanks in advance!

Budget? Main use ex. gaming, video production, CAD word etc?

What resolution are you playing at.

As for the SSD keep the your old 2 SSDs and run them with out RAID, real world preference gains from RAID 0 are minimal.

That PSU is a bit much for a 6600K and a 1080

Hi, welcome to the forums :)

What's your budget for the entire build? The 6600k is a great option but if you're short on money the 6500 is a good pick too. As for the SSDs the raid config should be fine (RAID 0?), but you can always add an M.2 drive later if you get a compatable mobo. If you're only doing 1080p and 1440p gaming the 1070 should be fine at 60hz, but if you really want the best performance possible the 1080 is one of the best options out right now. Your board does allow for SLI so if you really need to you could always add another 1070.

Thanks for the fast replies. Yea like I said I will mainly be using it for gaming. My budget (for the GPU and CPU) is not set in stone since I can always just save a bit more if need be. But i was thinking of something around 800 USD. I live in Sweden so its a bit more expensive here. I know the PSU is a bit more then I need, but since I already have I dont see the need to get a different one.

I have a BenQ 27" XL2730Z, so ive been gaming in 1440p.

And yes i was thinking of raid0 but if the gains arent to big then I might not bother.
