R9 270 2GB or HD 7970 3GB

7970 is MUCH more powerful. About 40% or so

7950 is in between - it's the R9 280 (thing I have) - it's faster than a 7870/R9 270 but slower than a 7970/R9 280X

Oh I personally am but for my mother and brother it is my moms money which she said try and do it as cheap as you can.

Well, tell them that waiting for the 150$ RX 470 is a MUCH better investment.

Perhaps even the RX 460 which will be about equivalent to a 960
